Tbilisi on a long weekend: a four-day route
The old town, sulphur baths, Mtskheta and the Kazbegi mountains all fit into four days if you plan them right. A ready route from our managers.

Georgia is perfect for a short break: the flight is short, the food is wonderful and the mountains start a couple of hours from the capital.
Day 1. Old Tbilisi
Start in Abanotubani, the district of domed sulphur baths. Climb to Narikala fortress, on foot or by cable car, for the view over the city. In the evening, walk across the Bridge of Peace.
Day 2. Mtskheta and Jvari
Georgia’s ancient capital is just 20 km away. Svetitskhoveli cathedral and Jvari monastery above the meeting of two rivers are among the country’s most beautiful places.
Day 3. Kazbegi
The highlight of the trip. The Georgian Military Road past Ananuri fortress takes about three hours and ends at Gergeti church beneath Mount Kazbek.
- bring a warm jacket even in summer
- leave early to catch the best light
Day 4. Markets and food
The Dry Bridge flea market, wine bars and a khinkali class. Try Adjarian khachapuri and churchkhela.
